A Chuckle For a Blah Monday

This was at the end of an email my friend Gloria sent me and it tickled me, so I’m sharing it with ya’ll.

” We may have to get rid of the woodpecker!”

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah’s Ark

One : Don’t miss the boat.
: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
: Plan ahead –  It wasn’t raining while Noah built the Ark.
: Stay fit, when you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
: Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
: Build your future on high ground.
: For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.                                                                                                     Eight : Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
: When you’re stressed, float a while.
: You don’t have to know it all.  Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

Update on Logan 4/28

Daniel sent me this update on Logan.  Praise God for His healing hands and mercy.  Please continue to lift Logan up before the Lord along with his family.

I am very happy to say that Logan is making some progress. He is opening his eyes, turning his head, and posturing. I’m not sure what they mean by posturing, so if anyone can say what is meant by that, it would be great. They are baby steps, but we’ll take them. His mom says that they still have him on the ventilator to keep a good supply of oxygen to his brain. His condition is still critical, and he is still hour to hour, day to day and things could change at any time.

My dearest prayer warrior friends,

I was blessed to see Logan and hold his precious little hand this afternoon. The staff as been trying to wean him off the vent– shortly before I saw him, Logan was able to breath on his own without the support of the vent…the vent has NOT been removed but he was not having to use it to support his breathing. YEA!!!! God!!!!! He looked very peaceful without any distress. His O2 saturations were 99%, his blood pressure and heart rate seemed within normal limits His dad and sisters said he has squeezed their hand. He has ankle/foot braces on for 4 hours and off for 2…I think that is the schedule. Physical therapy is coming in to do range of motion and it appears he responds to a poke on his foot. His last MRI seems to show LESS brain damage than previous ones. The family said the Dr’s. don’t know what to make of it but and we ( the family and all other faithful believers in God’s almighty healing power) know a miracle when we see it. The family said Logan is scheduled to have a feeding tube surgically placed on Wed. They will also continue the repair to his right shoulder and do a tracheotomy (IF necessary)

The family is grateful for your prayers.  Keep them coming. I will be glad to forward any prayer or comment  to the family.  They seem quite hopeful and listen to what the Dr’s. say but put their faith in the One true Healer. I spoke with grandpa George and was relieved to see he also has a great sense of hope and gratefulness to our Heavenly Father. Please continue your prayer vigils they work.

Pray also for Shelby’s and Haley’s  focus as they both have TAKS test next week. We all know those test are of no consequence in the big scheme of life but required nonetheless. I cannot even imagine having to worry about a test at a time like this.

Daddy God thank you for the gifts we receive, continue to watch over all the prayer warriors, forgive us our sins  and help us to reconcile our will to yours, In Jesus holy name. Amen

Angels are With Us

My friend Daniel sent this to me and I wanted to pass it along to everyone.  Angels are among us – This did happen:

One day going to work I had an experience that I never had before or since.

The time was about 5 AM when I started to walk down a long train of outside concrete stairs leading down from one street to another. I reached a place on the stairs where it is mostly hidden from view, here I was confronted by two men who must have been out all night and had been drinking. One was a bigger man than I and the other about the same size as me. The bigger started talking then the smaller started to fight with me. Now here I’m between these two and no way am I going to get away. I was scared to say the least. I figured I was going to get stabbed and probably die right there on these stairs next to my apartment building.

Out of nowhere I looked up and I see a large man in basically regular clothes but did have blonde hair. When the other men saw him they backed off from me and I was free to go. I then began to continue down the stairs with this large man behind me.

As we walked down I turned my head around and asked him “where did you come from”?

Once or twice I asked and received no answer, just this big smile.

Then said “boy glad that you came along, did you see what was going on over there”?

Just a low quick talk and smile.

When we reached the bottom of the stairs I looked back to thank him for coming at the time that he did.

He was not there! I looked all over, gone! I was stunned, no one can disappear in a second. Then I realized what it had to be. An angel! I was actually protected by an angel sent from God!

My life was most likely going to end there but God said no. He sent an angel to disrupt and stop whatever was going to take place. No one would have seen what had happened to me and it would have been an awful long time before they discovered my body and the two men would have gotten away and never been caught.

To this day I have never seen that being again.

All praise, honor and glory to our God!!! Thank You Lord Jesus!!!

If not God sending an angel, I would not be writing this now!

Praise God!!!

Psalm 91
Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
         And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
         And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
         Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
         I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
         And show him My salvation.”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Prayer Update for Jose

I am sorry for not posting sooner, we are trying to catch up on sleep and rest after Jose’s surgery.

I give all glory and honor and praise to God for His healing hands and grace.  Jose was in surgery for 4 hours on Wednesday and while we do not know if the tumor was benign or malignant, he is doing great!  The doctor said he got it all!

He is home and resting and we are so happy that his spirits are good and he has even had some movement in his neck which he hasn’t had in a very very long tme.

Right now we are both resting, him from his surgery, and me from being at the hospital from 530am to Midnight and not getting sound rest while at home.

I thank you all for your prayers and ask that you continue to seek God on Jose’s behalf that God would continue the good work He has started and that Jose would have full range of motion in his neck and be pain free.

Prayer Request Jose

Well brothers and sisters in Christ, I come to you asking for prayer for my husband.

Tomorrow morning he will undergo surgery to remove a tumor from the left side of his neck.  He detected it about a year ago, but did not say anything and because he is a husky guy and wears a beard it was not easily visible.

One day about 2 months ago I was rubbing his shoulders when I noticed it and that’s when he told me about it.  Needless to say I lifted him up to the Lord and then made him go to the doctors.

They did a needle biopsy however it came back as “undetermined” meaning they could not say if it was benign, or malignant.  To be quite honest, it didn’t matter to me one way or the other, the mass needs to come out and I know the God I serve so I’ve had true peace about the whole thing.  My husband has placed himself in God’s hands, but he is still human and has some anxiety about the procedure.  I think it’s because the surgery will involve them turning his neck a full 180 degrees and for the past 2 years he has barely been able to turn his neck side to side or lift his head up and down.  This is due to being rear-ended in July 2006 and then again in August 2007.

As for me, I think this will be a good thing because they will have him sedated and they will move his neck farther than it has in years.  I know this will case him major discomfort, however I also know that God can work this out so that Jose will not experience pain.

Please lift Jose up before the Lord with me as we declare that this tumor will be completely removed and that there will be no side effects, pain or hindrance for him.  Agree with me in prayer that God will place His angels over my husband and watch over him during surgery and that He will guide the hands of the surgeons and nurses that will be taking care of him.  I claim healing and restoration for Jose in the mighty name of Jesus, Jehovah Rophe, Yeshua Ha’Mashiach!

Prayer Request for Shorty

Please join me in prayer for Doris’ brother Shorty who lives in Seneca Illinois..  He has been told by his doctors that he may have cancer and will need numerous biopsies in June at an oncology center in Chicago to determine how they will need to treat it.  Please also pray for Shorty’s wife Marge for peace, strength and courage as she supports her husband during this trying time.

Father, You are Jehovah Rophe and we come to you today on behalf of Shorty and pray that You place Your hands upon him and his wife.  Jesus, You bore all our sickness and freed us from the curse of death while on the cross.  Your blood flows through Shorty and brings life and healing to him.  We forbid any tumors or growths to inhabit Shorty’s body and command them to dissolve in the name of Jesus.  Sickness must flee and has no power over him and the word of God energizes every cell of his body.

Lord, may the peace that only You can bring cover Shorty and Marge.  Father, give Your angels charge over them and place a hedge of protection around them.

Update on Logan 4/21

Here is the latest update on Logan. Thank you to all of you for forwarding the prayer requests and lifting this family into the healing embrace of Our Lord.

The doctors are taking Logan off of the sedation medications that have been keeping him in a coma and try to wake him up. They are awaiting results from chest xrays and an MRI that has been done. The bolt that was inserted to measure the pressure in his brain has been removed also.

Ben Stein’s "expelled"

landing_ben_main 18expelled-600

There is a movie that hit theaters today by Ben Stein called “Expelled” and I HIGHLY recommend this movie to everyone.  It is not a “christian” movie but rather a documentary on Darwinism versus Intelligent Design.  Ben Stein has done an outstanding job and in my humble opinion should receive an award and critical acclaim.

This is a must see movie.  I cannot put into words the roller coaster of emotions this movie took me through, I can however say that I will be telling everyone I know about it and encourage them to see it.

I didn’t think there would be many people in the theater to see this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised to see over half the seats full.  Once the movie began, you could hear a pin drop – the silence spoke volumes.

Now, it has always been my habit to clap for good movies and stay for the rolling credits, and it was so wonderful to see that I was not alone when I began clapping as the movie ended.

My husband and I had some wonderful conversation as we drove home and we both would like to go back and see it again.

prayer request – wanda

Hello saints and prayer warriors, I come to you on behalf of my sister in law, Wanda.  Her health has been declining for the past year or so and she has just been diagnosed with Lupus.  She has been experiencing severe swelling of her joints and discomfort in her legs and her blood pressure has been higher than normal.

Man has found no cure for Lupus, but we serve a mighty God who is Jehovah Rophe and He can bring healing and restore her to the perfection He created her in.

Please lift her up to the Lord and stand in agreement with us as we pray for total healing from this disease and for her blood pressure to return to 120 over 80.  Pray that God reveals himself to her and that she turns to Him for her salvation.

Shout To The Lord – Idol Gives Back

When I saw this on American Idol the other night, I was just blown away.  First of all, while there have been contestants in the past that have sung praise and worship songs, I don’t recall the entire group ever giving praise unto the Lord like this.  Secondly, I felt the power of the Holy Spirit in my living room and I just stood in awe of God.  Only He could have orchestrated that performance and for the entire audience to sit and listen and then give a standing ovation was simply amazing.

Over 30 million people watch American Idol every week and because of YouTube, countless more will watch this performance.  I will never tire of watching this video, nor will I never tire of hearing this song, every time I hear it, I feel the presence of the Lord and I am reduced in love to tears.  I am listing the words as well as the video and if you are an Ipod user, you can go to Itunes and download it.

My Jesus, my Saviour

Lord there is none like You

All of my days, I want to praise

The wonders of Your mighty love

My comfort, my shelter

Tower of refug and strength

Let every breath, all that I am

Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord

All the earth, let us sing

Power and majesty

Praise to the King

Mountains bow down

And the seas will roar

At the sound of Your name

I sing for joy at the work

Of Your hand

Forever I’ll love you

Forever I’ll stand

Nothing compares

To the promise I have

In You

Update On Logan 4/16

Daniel has sent another update for Logan, please continue to lift him and his family up to the Lord… Take care and God bless you,

here are the links to his prayer request and 4/14 update

Here is the latest update I’ve gotten. Thank you so much for everything and for all of the prayers.

Just got off the phone with Gail. She reported that Logan has a good night. They still haven’t done the shunt and the dr’s are supposed to be deciding whether or not they will be doing it or not.

He has leveled out and the brain pressure is staying the same and not rising so that is good. They haven’t said anything about taking him off of the RX that is making him stay in the coma, but they did tell them that it takes 6-8 hrs for the drug to start leaving his body so that he can start waking up. Gail is hoping they will want to do that soon so they can see exactly how he is affected and to what degree.

So basically everything is still the same…

Update on Logan 4/14

He has some bruised organs and a broken rib and punctured lung from the chest injury. Logan is currently in a drug induced coma at Children’s Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston.  His brain is still quite swollen and they’ve inserted a bolt to try to relieve some pressure and reduce the swelling. Things are still the same today (Sat. 12th). It is still too early to tell if Logan will have any permanent brain damage or even if Logan will survive. We are asking for prayers for Logan, of course, for his mom and dad Jeff & Michelle, his sisters Shelby, Haley, and Makenzie and all grandparents and relatives.

We are just asking that The Lord embrace this family in his healing arms and bring this family through this. We are wanting for enough people to pray for this family all across the US and beyond so they will feel the prayers working while they keep their vigilance with Logan.

Logan is still very critical. I am told that they are going to remove the bolt this afternoon and insert a shunt to help relieve the fluid on his brain. Everything is still, basically, minute to minute, hour to hour.

I’ve included some beautiful pictures of this handsome boy. He truly looks like an angel in these.

Please, continue to pray.

Thank you again for all of the prayers for Logan and his family. They do appreciate all of the love being shown to them.

the Way – A message From Joel Osteen

I haven’t posted a message from Joel Osteen in quite some time, and it’s not because I haven’t wanted to, it’s because for some reason, I can’t always see his messages through my email.  Tonight as I was checking my email, I saw a message in my inbox from Joel Osteen and when I opened it I was able to see it and knew I was meant to share it.  I can honestly say that I am completely in agreement that God is there for you through thick and thin and will make a way according to His will and purpose for your life – all we have to do is put Him first, listen and let Him guide us.  He will not make beggars of us, leave us or forsake us – He will be with us always.

The Way

Today’s Scripture

“‘…how can we know the way?’ Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:5-6).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you need direction in your life today? Not only is Jesus the way to life in eternity, but Jesus is the way to everything you need in this life here on earth. Do you need to know the way out of debt? Look to the Father through Jesus. Do you need to know the way to having better relationships…the way to overcome an addiction…to live in peace and joy? When you know Jesus, you know the Way. No matter what you are facing today, no matter what challenges or obstacles are in your life, He will make a way for you even when you don’t see how. God loves you so much that He wants to strengthen and empower you to live in total victory. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to this earth—to show you the way to live an abundant life! Open your heart today and receive all that God has given you through Jesus. As you do, you’ll see His hand lead you in the way of victory in every area of your life!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to show me the way. I invite You into every area of my life. Keep me close to You always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dodie Osteen’s healing Scriptures

Some time ago, The Lord put it on my heart to post the healing scriptures that Dodie Osteen has stood on for over 25 years here on my blog.  She was diagnosed with cancer and told by her doctors to go home and prepare to die.  Praise God she did not accept their diagnosis into her Spirit but ran to her Father and stood on His Word and promises.

Initially I was just going to list the scriptures, then I thought about creating a hyper-link so you could click on the scripture and go to a website and read it, but the Lord impressed on me the need to list each scripture in full.  I found the list on the Lakewood Church website and I began typing out the list and the verses.  I got halfway through the list (which took me over 2 hours) and while I was taking a break, I was doing some searching through the internet and I found IAHR which Praise God, has the list and verses already listed.  They use the New King James Version, however you can go to Bible Resources or BibleGateway to look up other versions of these scriptures. (Note – IAHR was a site that led to http://www.jesushealers.com however that site is no longer available.  Thank you Loreal for pointing this out to me!)

7. Obey God’s Word and be healed. and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. (Mal 3:10 NKJV)

11. One of God’s benefits is healing. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 20. What you say will make a difference. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 23. Have someone lay hands on you for healing. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 NKJV)

26. You are redeemed from the curse. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal 3:13-14 NKJV)

27. You will not waiver in your faith. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Heb 10:23 NKJV)

28. You can have confidence in God and His Word. Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (Heb 10:35 NKJV)

29. You can find strength in God and His Word “…. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.'” (Joel 3:10 NKJV)

30. Jesus Christ has never changed. What He did in the Bible, He will do for you today. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8 NKJV)

31. God’s highest wish is for you to be well. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2 KJV)

32. Be anointed with oil by a Christian who believes in healing. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:14-15 NKJV)

33. Jesus has already paid the price for your healing. who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Pet 2:24 NKJV)

34. Be confident in your prayers. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15 NKJV)

35. God answers the prayers of those that keep His commandments. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. (1 John 3:21-22 NKJV)

36. Fear is not of God. Rebuke it! For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 NKJV)

37. Cast down those thoughts and imaginations that don’t line up with the Word of God. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Cor 10:4-5 NKJV)

38. Be strong in the Lord’s power. Put on His armor to fight for healing. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (Eph 6:10-17 NKJV)

39. Give testimony of your healing. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Rev 12:11 NKJV)

40. Your sickness will leave and not come back again. What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time. (Nahum 1:9 NKJV)

Update On Logan Stehno

Update on Logan Stehno

The last update received this morning is that Logan will have to undergo more testing on his brain. He is still in a coma and the doctors are having trouble getting him to respond and to wake up. Though the initial MRI showed no brain damage, Logan’s brain was still swollen at that time. It is thought that the swelling may have been hiding an injury, or that a complication has developed since the first MRI.

Also, an account has been set up for Logan to help defray expenses. Donations can be mailed to the following:

LOUISE, TX 77455

Please note that the bank will forward deposit receipts to the family with information that will allow the family to acknowledge your donation.

Please, continue to pray for this family. If you are able to help with a monetary donation, I know that the family will be most grateful.

It’s 9:00pm – Got A Minute to Spare for Prayer?

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of  people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in  America. The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever ! ! !

If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United  States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the up-coming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

***My friend Daniel sent this to me and I can’t agree more with what is being asked in this message.  I’ve set my cell phone with a daily reminder at 8:59pm so that I stop what I am doing and at 9pm join those who will also stop what they are doing for 1 minute and pray.  You can take a moment to write out a simple prayer on a piece of paper and slip it into your wallet, purse, pocket, tape it to your computer and for you techies out there – enter it as a draft text message in your cell phone for easy access.  Won’t you please join us because THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER!

Who’s Your daddy?

My mom sent this to me and while it looks like a long read, it’s not – take a minute of your day to read it – you’ll be glad you did!

A seminary professor was vacationing with his wife in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. One morning, they were eating breakfast at a little restaurant, hoping to enjoy a quiet, family meal. While they were waiting for their food, they noticed a distinguished looking, white-haired man moving from table to table, visiting with the guests. The professor leaned over and whispered to his wife, ‘I hope he doesn’t come over here.’ But sure enough, the man did come over to their table.

‘Where are you folks from?’ he asked in a friendly voice. ‘Oklahoma,’ they answered. ‘Great to have you here in Tennessee,’ the stranger said. ‘What do you do for a living?’ ‘I teach at a seminary,’ he replied. ‘Oh, so you teach preachers how to preach, do you? Well, I’ve got a really great story for you.’ And with that, the gentleman pulled up a chair and sat down at the table with the couple. The professor groaned and thought to himself, ‘Great. Just what I need…another preacher story!’ The man started, ‘See that mountain over there? (pointing out the restaurant window). Not far from the base of that mountain, there was a boy born to an unwed mother. He had a hard time growing up, because every place he went, he was always asked the same question, ‘Hey boy, Who’s your daddy?’ Whether he was at school, in the grocery store or drug store, people would ask the same question, ‘Who’s your daddy?’

He would hide at recess and lunchtime from other students. He would avoid going into stores because that question hurt him so bad. ‘When he was about 12 years old, a new preacher came to his church. And still, the kid would always go in late and slip out early to avoid hearing the question, ‘Who’s your daddy?’ But one day, the new preacher said the benediction so fast he got caught and had to walk out with the crowd. Just about the time he got to the back door, the new preacher, not knowing anything about him, put his hand on his shoulder and asked him, Son, who’s your daddy? The whole church got deathly quiet. He could feel every eye in the church looking at him. Now everyone would finally know the answer to the question, ‘Who’s your daddy?’ ‘This new preacher, though, sensed the situation around him and using discernment that only the Holy Spirit could give, said the following to that scared little boy… ‘Wait a minute! I know who you are! I see the family resemblance now. You are a child of God.’ With that he patted the boy on his shoulder and said, ‘Boy, you’ve got a great inheritance. Go and claim it.’ ‘With that, the boy smiled for the first time in a long time and walked out the door a changed person. He was never the same again. Whenever anybody asked him, ‘Who’s your Daddy?’ he’d just tell them, ‘I’m a Child of God.”

The distinguished gentleman got up from the table and said, ‘Isn’t that a great story?’ The professor responded that it really was a great story! As the man turned to leave, he said, ‘You know, if that new preacher hadn’t told me that I was one of God’s children, I probably never would have amounted to anything!’ And he walked away. The seminary professor and his wife were stunned. He called the waitress over and asked her, ‘Do you know who that man was — the one who just left that was sitting at our table?’ The waitress grinned and said, ‘Of course. everybody here knows him. That’s Ben Hooper He’s the former governor of Tennessee!’ Someone in your life today needs a reminder that they’re one of God’s children!

‘The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of God stands forever.’ ~~Isaiah

Faith is not believing that God can. It is knowing that God will!
