A Message From Joel Osteen

So, not only am I catching up on my blogging, I’m catching up on a lot of emails.  This message from Joel Osteen came into my email on 2/20 but I didn’t see it until this evening.  I can personally testify to God’s power and ability to do do above and beyond what we could think or imagine and since this message hit so close to home, I decided to share it with you.

His Power at Work

Today’s Scripture

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…” (Ephesians 3:20).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

God is able to do more than you could ever ask or imagine! But notice that this verse says it’s according to the power that is at work within you. How does God’s power work within you? God’s power works in you when you are walking in love. God’s power is at work in you when you choose to forgive those who have wronged you. God’s power is at work in you when you bow before Him with a humble heart. He is at work in you when you are serving others by putting their needs above your own. Remember, God wants to move on your behalf. He loves to bless you! Choose today to let God’s power work in and through you! As you allow Him to work in your life, He promises blessing beyond your wildest dreams! He will do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine. He’ll cause you to live the abundant life He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in Heaven, thank You for choosing to bless me. I invite You to work in my life today. Show me how to walk in Your love so that Your power will flow through me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Words To Meditate On

I met Lenore about a year ago through our Bariatric surgeon’s referral service.  She started out as my weight loss buddy and has become a true friend and sister in Christ.  She sent this to me via email and it touched my heart so deeply I felt the need to share it with you.  Take care and God bless you.* side note – Lenore has this saying saying at the end of all her emails and I’m passing this along too – “Be who you are and say what you feel…because those that matter…… don’t mind….and those that mind….. don’t matter!!! – Lenore

“To get something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Concentrate on this sentence…..’The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

When I opened the email from Lenore and read this I immediately thanked God for reminding me of His Will and His promises over my life.  It reminded me of the saying, “If He leads you to it, He’ll see you through it”, which then brought Psalm 23 to my remembrance, “…yea though I walk through the valley…”

I’ve been walking, no crawling through the valley for the past few weeks and I know that there have been times when He had to carry me on His shoulders because I didn’t have the strength physically or mentally to carry myself through it.  Today I received the financial blessing that God brought to my attention last week, and I prayed and asked Him to give me more than they told me I would get and I did get more than I had expected.

I believe His Word, and I believe I am free from debt.  I am standing on His promises and I know that when He takes something from you, it’s only because He has something better in store for you.  I applied to work for my previous employer and the job was just 2 minutes from home in the office I used to work in, and it was doing the same job I did when I worked in that office.  I knew I was the best candidate and would get the job.

For some reason it kept dragging on and on but they told me to be patient, so I was.  I prayed and asked God to bless me with this job so we could get out of financial trouble.  My being out of work for over 3 years has taken it’s toll financially and I needed a job!!!  I prayed and believed God for this job yet I still would tell Him that I wanted His Will performed and not mine.

I was praying for release from debt, to find a job, for my husband’s healing, and to be closer to Him.  Well, I thought the job was going to be God’s way of getting us out of the financial trouble we are in- apparently I was wrong.  I did not get the job, God knew better than to send me back into that pit.  Just days before I learned they didn’t even see my resume or application, they started letting people go that had worked for them for many, many years.

They have become even more heartless and uncaring of their employees and God knew that if I went back to work for them, it would most likely destroy me as it had almost done 4 years ago.  So, it’s true when they say, “when God closes a door, He opens a window”, “His ways are not our ways” and “God does not make mistakes”.  Trust in Him.  Be like the woman with the issue of blood and hang on to the hem of His garment and do not let go!

Every night I pray and believe God for His mercy, blessings and miracles.  To keep my mind from wandering and the enemy from starting his mess, I would play part of the opening song from Kenneth Copeland Ministries over and over in my head, “I know my God, has made a way for me”.  I would just repeat this over and over until I fell asleep and I continue doing this every night, for I know my God has made a way for me, for His plans are to prosper me, not harm me.

God has another plan for our financial restoration and me working is not part of that plan – at least not right now and  I’m totally cool with whatever He has in store for me.  I know He has something He wants me to do, I have an idea of what it is, but I’m not totally sure about all of it.  Now that our debt is being worked out, I believe I will be able to focus more clearly on what He wants for me and from me.Thank you for you prayers, and I ask that you continue to lift me and my family up in prayer before the Lord.  There is still much to be done in the way of our finances, physical healing and restoration and our walk with Him.

A Pick Me Up With A Twist

I was on the phone with my mom the other day, catching her up to all that’s been going on here for the past few weeks and she got an ear full!  I must admit that while things are much better these days and we did share a few funny moments and we both got a good chuckle, the majority of the conversation was depressing to say the least.  Re-hashing the events of the past few weeks brought up icky feelings, thank God and all praise to Him for bringing us out of the valley so that all that junk is being put behind us!

Well, to get on with my point of my post, I was doing some dusting yesterday with a bugger of a migraine when the dogs went wild, barking and rushing from the front door to the couch so they could look out the window.  I asked my son if he was expecting company, he said no – I noticed a vehicle out front so my son decided to go to the porch to see what was a-foot!  He came back in bearing a huge edible arrangement.  It was a bunch of fruit arranged like flowers, so pretty and it smelled wonderful!  I was in shock to say the least.  I’ve heard about these things, but never saw one before, let alone have one sent to me.  At first I thought maybe someone sent it to the wrong address, then maybe someone sent a sympathy basket – but no one died that I knew of.  Then I thought, did I forget someone’s birthday???  Then my son read the card which said, “Hope this helps to put a smile on your face, love Mom”.  Wow, I wasn’t expecting anything!  What a thoughtful thing for her to do, I mean putting up with my rants and downer of a conversation – I should have been the one to send her a pick me up!!!

Well, we TORE into the goodies and most of it is gone so I’m glad I made my son take a picture of it right away!  For your viewing pleasure – the picture does not do it justice – too bad we don’t have smell-a-vision!fruit-basket.jpg

Valentines Day Swap Goodies

In a previous post, I talked about a swap that Kailani hosted for Valentines Day.  My swap partner was Beccy and what luck to draw a buddy from Ireland!!  I know that a lot of people prefer partners in their prospective countries because postage can get a bit expensive, but I figure, if you get lucky enough to draw someone from another country you get a chance to visit that country in some small way.  When I learned my buddy was from Ireland I was so excited because I’m part Irish on my mothers side – her dad was Irish, with a name like Finnegan who could deny that!  I have always had a desire to visit Ireland and thought this was a great way to catch a glimpse of it through my buddy!

Well, I wanted to share with you the awesome Valentines Day goodies Beccy sent so I took a picture for you.  Not only did she send me goodies like chocolates, candles and booties (which by the way, I needed booties because my feet get so cold lately), she handmade my card and made me a bracelet too!  What a blessing!  Her package arrived right on time, I only wish I could say the same for mine.  I was late sending her gifts off, which I feel so terrible about and can’t apologize enough to her.  I emailed her and she was so gracious, I hope she enjoys her goodies as much as I am enjoying mine.

Here is a picture of the goodies Beccy sent me – I know it’s a bit big, but I wanted you to be able to see everything!

valentines-swap-768-x-576.jpg  Thanks Beccy, I love everything and cherish the time and effort you put into making this a special day for me.  I hope we keep in touch and I get to learn more about Ireland through you!  Thanks again and God bless you and your family!
