prayer Update # 2 For Kiarah

So, I posted a prayer update for Kiarah back on September 5th and I recently received an update from her grandmother that I want to share with you.  Continue to lift Kiarah and her family up before the Lord for healing and strength.

I’m Kiarah’s grandmother in Florida.  Thank you for all your prayers for my precious little grand daughter.   She is quite the fighter and smiles a lot even though she is so weak some times.  She will be having radiation 5x for the next 5 days and every 3rd week she will be having a double dose of chemo for 5 days.  She makes this old (60) years old grandmother not worry about her minor aches and pains any more.   We know that God is watching over her and my son and his wife in NJ.

Prayer Request Update

Back on September 3rd, I posted a prayer request from one of my readers  She asked me to pray for a couple starting a church and she has given me a praise update that I want to share with everyone.  I want to thank everyone for their prayers, and ask that you continue to lift them up before the Lord as they prepare to share His Word who hunger and thirst after it.  May God continue the good work He has started.

Morning and Evening Prayer

So, as I’m trying to unwind from a hard day’s work followed by some grocery shopping and dinner making I notice there isn’t any mail sitting on my computer table.

I decide to take a peek into the mailbox, and there it is, waiting, patiently for someone to take it into the house – I am elected.

Praise God there are no bills, just every day “junk mail” and a letter from Dr. Charles Stanley.

So, I toss the junk mail and open the letter from Dr. Stanley and a pretty laminated card slips out and to my surprise it’s a morning and evening prayer.  I make it a point to pray each morning and evening, but these prayers are so simple yet powerful that I wanted to share it with you.

I Am Still Here

I first want to thank each and everyone of you that have kept me and my family in prayer.  As you may know, I was blessed with a full time job and started on September 2nd.  Things have been in fast forward ever since and I have not been able to devote time to posting on my blog.  For that I beg your forgiveness and hope to be resume regular posting again very soon.  I will still post prayer requests, so please do not hesitate to send them to me.

Being out of the work force for over 4 years has taken it’s toll on my ability to coordinate my time and I am trying to get back into the ‘groove’.  I will admit though that I am not suffering from Insomnia anymore – PRAISE GOD!!!  I’m so exhausted by the time I get home I’m ready to go to bed by 8pm!  On the flip side, I am learning so much on my new job, and the company I work for is so multi-faceted that some days it makes my head spin, but I thank God every day for blessing me with a job.

I have some new pictures to post, and there is so much going on in my home between my kids and their activities, work and my husband’s health – which is improving every day, so I hope that within the next week or so to update my blog.

To all my friends, family and readers, you are in my thoughts, and prayers every day.  Your prayers for me and my family are such a blessing to us we cannot fully express our appreciation in words so we ask that God our heavenly Father richly bless you, according to His riches in heaven.  May He give the angels charge over your protection and may you know the peace that only He can bring.

Comments By Ben Stein & Anne Graham Lotz

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

“My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.  And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees..  I don’t feel threatened.  I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are:  Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me.  I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto.  In fact, I kind of like it.  It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu .  If people want a crèche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.  I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.  I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country.  I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Jessica Simpson
or Britney Spears and we aren’t all owed to worship God as we understand Him?  I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too.  But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Jessica & Britney came from and where the America we knew went to.”

Right on Ben!!!  In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different:  This is not intended to be a joke;  it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking. Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.

anne-graham-lotz She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.  And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.  How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.  I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.  Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.  The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself.  And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about.  And we said OK.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out  I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Prayer Update – Kiarah

Last week I posted a prayer request for Kiarah and I received an update from my friend Doris as to her condition.

Kiarah had the surgery and she was going to go home today, however she has had a minor setback, she has developed Pneumonia in her left lung and has been placed on antibiotics.

Please continue to lift her up in prayer for her continued healing.  Ask God to touch the nurses and doctors and place Kiarah on their hearts to provide the extra care and attention that she needs.   Please continue to pray for her family and loved ones that they have peace about Kiarah’s progress and healing and strength to care for her when she gets home.

I will continue to post updates about her progress as I receive them.  Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment and may God richly bless you and grant you favor with man and meet all your needs according to His righteousness and riches in heaven, in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Prayer Request

I received a prayer request from one of my readers and I ask that you join with me to lift this couple up before the Lord.

A married couple 50 years young who have a deep and humble love for the Lord have recently started a church.  They believe in the One True God of Israel and are led by the Holy Spirit to preach the Word of God.

They have a small membership which is growing and they have a meeting place.  The building is in need of some repairs and they are also in need of carpeting, chairs, kitchen appliances and finances to meet their monthly expenses.

Please lift them up before the Lord as they work to further the kingdom of God.

Lord God, Master and Creator of the universe, we come before You and place this couple before Your throne.  We give thanks that they have accepted the responsibility of leading and feeding Your flock.  Guide them and teach them according to Your will.  We ask that you bless and increase them and their following.  Holy Spirit, fall upon them and anoint them as they teach and impart the Word of the One True God.  Lord Jehovah, may they be guided by You and seek Your wisdom and truth.  Father, bless the church with workers that will be able to help the with repairs, various duties and members that seek the Word of God, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, Yeshua Ha’Mashiach, amen.
