De-cluttering My House Day 2

So, yesterday I said I was going to tackle my nightstand today and I just finished.  It took me about 1/2 hour – believe it or not!  There must have been 30 bottles, jars, and tubes of lotions, body spray, shower gels and soaps in there – ugh!  I decided that if it was more than 6 months old and opened, it was getting circular filed (put in the trash to you non-office types).  I put all the shower gelly stuff in the shower in one of those suction cup organizer thingy’s- great idea huh???  Then, I bagged up the old stuff and tossed it out and then I took a few things aside for my daughter (she’s 14 and loves to drench herself in this kind of stuff).  By the time I was done all that I only had a few things to put back into the drawers – and I even had room to put my hairbrushes, nail polishes and make-up which freed up another drawer in my dresser!  Can I get a woot woot???  Now the top drawer of my nightstand has room for me to put my crossword puzzles, reading book, itty bitty bookworm light, some pens, pencils and highlighters and my vitamins.  This has therefore freed up room on top of my nightable and it looks so nice.  I should probably be documenting all this with pictures taken from the camera my daughter and her boyfriend got me for Christmas but I haven’t figured out how to get the pictures from the camera to my computer – yet!!!  I’ll be looking into that tomorrow, (my daughter is coming over so she can help me decipher the ancient code – I mean the instruction book).  I’ve just decided that I’m not going to de-clutter anything on the weekends (unless I am bored out of my mind) so I can spend that time with the family.  They say that clutter causes stress, and I can testify to that.  I feel like I am accomplishing something, even if it is just a small something.  I figure if I take on a little project everyday, I won’t get overwhelmed and give up and as each day goes by my efforts will get noticed and if not by anyone else, at least I will know and that’s who I’m doing all this for anyway.  Well, until next time, take care and God bless!

A Blog A Day???

Okay, I had a lot of posts for 2007, but I certainly did not do a post a day, so what in the world possessed me to even consider signing up for the blog a day challenge at Blog365???  I think I’ve mentioned in prior posts that I subscribe via email to a few blogs and The Diaper Diaries is one of them.  Well, in my inbox today was her post on Things I Love Thursday and she loves blogging and so do I but not as much as she does, she runs 2 sites that I know of and I have trouble with just 1.  She mentioned that she signed up for the blog a day challenge over at Blog365, and I have no idea why, but I decided to take the challenge as well.  So, here is my Blog365 addy and I’m not really sure how it works – I don’t know if it will link my posts from this site or if I’ll have to copy them over, but for now I just cut and pasted my posts from here to there.  I’ll figure it out eventually – I’m smart like that - at least that’s what my mom tells me!  Anyway, I’d love it if you visited me over there and added yourself as my friend – but if you don’t want to, that’s cool, I won’t hold it against you – I love you no matter what - really!!!

De-cluttering My House Day 1

So, I made a resolution to de-clutter my house and my life and I even blogged about it in  my Thursday Thirteen for this week.  Well, one of the things I wanted to do was to go through each of my dresser drawers and downsize each of them and I’m happy to report I did it!  I can’t believe how much I got rid of considering I had already weeded out my drawers about 3 months ago.  I am really proud of myself, I went from having 2 drawers to hold my unmentionables and socks to getting them all into one drawer!  I also tossed out a few nightgowns, t-shirts and pants which was a bit harder than I thought it would be – after all, they weren’t in bad shape and while they were a bit baggy because of the weight loss, they were okay to wear around the house – I guess.  I had to remind myself that I wasn’t 358.6lbs anymore and I deserved to look nice in my clothes and I was hiding behind the big baggy sweatpants and shirts – so out they went!

Tomorrow I’m going to tackle my nightstand – I can’t even begin to guess how many jars of lotion, bottles of perfume, handsoaps, etc…that I have stashed away in those drawers – should be fun re-discovering them.  I’m not sure what I’ll do with them, I’ll have to wait and see what all’s in there and pray for divine guidance!

I think I’ll blog about my de-cluttering adventure every day so until tomorrow, as Tigger would say, TTFN (tah, tah, for now!)
